Let us ease your anxieties: it's not about the ring. At Pangaea Grill, we've had the pleasure of witnessing many proposals, and sure, your significant other cares what this new accessory for life looks like, but they care about you more. 

Sure there are ways to pick the perfect restaurant, as outlined in this blog post. Then again, this isn't just any occasion. It's not even a special occasion. It's the occasion. Show your intention that you're truly invested in getting every detail right, now and forever. So what's more perfect than a seaside proposal? Is it too clichéd?

Not if you do it right. Here's how:

DON'T FORGET TO CAPTURE THE MOMENT!

The first thing you should do is arrange a photographer. It doesn't have to be a professional, but it's encouraged. Having someone you know lurking around might ruin the posterity of the moment.

ASK THEM TO DINNER, AND MAKE A SPONTANEOUS SEASIDE DETOUR 

The best proposals are total surprises, but you wouldn't want to catch your beloved in sweats, no matter how good they look. Invite them to join you for a romantic dinner, and tell them to put on their Sunday best because you're taking them to one of the best grills in Carmel by the Sea. 

Once you are all decked up, make sure you get to drive and head toward a restaurant. But make a point to pass the beach and comment on how you just have to stop because it's so beautiful. Brush aside their concerns about sandy clothes, and lure them out with the promise of only staying a couple of moments to take it in. 

Pro Tip: check the weather and time at this moment to take advantage of the perfect sunset. Just as they find themselves taken in by the view, that's your cue to pull out the ring. The rest, as they, is history.

AND THEN?

Except what's the perfect proposal if it's not followed by the perfect celebration? That's right. You're going to have that dinner. Restaurants and bars might be too public for a proposal, but that's where you get the best food and cocktails. Go for something delicious and fun, like Korean cuisine. Invite your parents and extended families, or take some time to bond.
